How To Finance Your Off-Grid System
A green loan from the bank offers an excellent way to manage the upfront cost of solar.
Existing or new home loan customers can borrow up to $80,000 at a fixed rate of 1% per annum for 3 years to purchase a solar system.
Existing or new home loan customers can borrow up to $50,000 interest-free for 5 years to fund a solar power system.
ASB home loan customers can top up their Home Loan, up to $80,000 at a fixed rate of 1% per annum for 3 years to purchase a solar system.
Customers can borrow up to $80,000 at 1% per annum for 3 years to pay for a solar system
Existing or new mortgage customers can add a loan to borrow $5,000 or more for the cost of a solar panel system. Kiwibank will then contribute $2,000 over 4 years towards the cost of repaying the loan.

Off-grid systems are not connected to the grid, while grid-tied and hybrid systems are. An off-grid system is sized to cover your year round demand, with plenty of battery storage for back up. Can I Program My Car To Only Charge From Excess Solar?
Yes, if you have a Tesla Powerwall and a Tesla Electric Vehicle, you can use the ‘Charge on Solar’ feature to automatically charge your car when you have excess solar generation.
